Contributing data

All contributions of data sets to CASCADE must use the submission template [TODO link to xlsx file]. The mandatory columns to be filled in are as follows:

  1. (assigned) latitude and (assigned) longitude

Sampling coordinates in decimal degree north (i.e., between -90.000°N and +90.000°N) and decimal degree east (i.e., between -180.000°E and +180.000°E) using WGS 84 with up to 5 or 6 significant digits.

  2. expedition start and end

Sampling date in the format YYYYMMDD, e.g. 20250331. If the exact day or month is uncertain 00 is used as an error code for each, e.g. 20250300 denotes some day in March 2025 and 20250000 denotes some day in the year 2025.

  3. either a public reference for the dataset or the reason why the data set is not public

Full citation of a published reference for the dataset if the data set is public. If the data set is not public (yet) it will be flagged as embargoed which entails that a motivation for the embargo has to be provided along with proper contact information for the dataset.

The filled in template needs to be send to cascade@aces.su.se. It is then picked up by the editors for import.
